Why Virtual Assistants need to think as teams and why the shift to teamwork is a great way for our industry to evolve ...
Some old-school Virtual Assistants out there are offended by the fact we build teams instead of relying on traditional Do-It-All Virtual Assistants to help our clients. "What's wrong with just hiring a Do-It-All-VA?" they ask. My answer: "Nothing is wrong with hiring a Virtual Assistant! It's the perfect start to building a professional Virtual Team. It's the Do-It-All part that throws people off and I'll tell you why ..."
Let's get real how the market has evolved over the past ten years. For one thing: e-commerce has grown tremendously. Secondly: word is finally getting out to business owners that there are a wealth of highly capable virtual professionals ready to unburden them from their unbearable workloads.
In most cases, prospective clients are now looking for more than one dynamite Virtual Assistant ... they're looking for virtual teams. They want a VA, a web master, a bookkeeper, a marketing assistant ... and in some cases a programmer. Does the "Do-It-All" Virtual Assistant honestly have all of the skills to tackle all of these roles with no learning curve?
